Firstly, my son has found his own place to rent and it is PERFECT for them.
It has 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, barbecue area, garage and OUTSIDE ROOM which can be used for the band because the house is in a part of town that has mostly business and a high school taking up most of the area.
The house is in a panhandle and the front house is a business which stops operating at 5pm, so they can make as much noise as they like on a Friday evening with band practice.
The second lovely thing that happened today is that one of my longest standing friends popped in for coffee. Turned out the lady she studies the bible with, was at the clinic and unable to study today. It also was pouring with rain so she and her field service partner for the day, came to me for some coffee. Here's where the twist comes in....she brought the coffee AND lunch. She said she knew I was busy with visitors and coffee due to my moms recent operation, so she didn't want to place any more burden on me.
How absolutely thoughtful. She brought a flask of boiling water, some sachets of 3-in-1 coffee and 3 single servings of cottage pie served in empty margarine tubs so that no dishes needed washing after lunch.
That was so sweet.
She showed me her permanent eyeliner.....looks good I must say. Don't think I'd ever want permanent make up, but it looked very natural on her. Now she's going to start using false eyelashes LOL what a thing to start at over 50. When she has them on, she plans to return so we can go out and she can "flash her eyes" about.
Here is my final lovely thing that happened.....my friend and I used to be the same size.
We used to regularly share clothes in the old days (as recent as March this year).
The picture is not a clear one, but you can possibly see the difference between our sizes now.
The good news is, that she is so inspired by my weight loss, she has now joined a gym for swimming initially. Once she has lost some weight she will see about using the equipment. For now she swims twice a week. I'm so delighted that my friend has begun an exercise routine. In her hey-day she did some type go-jo, kick boxing or something like that and had a great figure. Ah well, that's almost everyone's story isn't it, but we are fixing it now. She has bad knees just like me and I think seeing me work out, sore knees and all has given her "courage" to get it done also. I'm super happy for both of us.
Anyway can't spend too much time today, because I've offered to put a chicken pie together for the kids to collect to have whenever they are done with the move. Poor things, its such a lousy, rainy and wet day to move, but you know how the young are....all excited to get in tonight.
