Fall, and New Beginnings
Thursday, August 29, 2013
I woke up early this morning from the heat, but now I'm sitting here in the quiet, dark house listening to the lovely sound of rain pattering on the deck outside. There are boxes of pears piled around on the hearth. There are tomatoes, peaches and plums in the fridge. It's nearly 6 a.m. and it's still dark. Only a few more days of summer vacation left, and it is really starting to feel like Fall. I'm really glad reaching my halfway goal, and starting in using my new digital scale happened at just this time, when it feels like a time for new beginnings. I've been on a roll this summer, but it feels fresh and good to have a new start anyway. I've been pondering what, how, and when I should get my exercise in once school begins next week. I guess it'll probably be back to the old stationary bike/exercise mat/hand weights here in my room early in the mornings. It has been fun this summer to change that up a bit, taking a Zumba class with my daughter, and working out at the gym with my disabled mother. Once work starts, though, my options are more limited due to time. Guess it's time to choose an intriguing book, because on that bike I can get a lot of reading done!
