Hi to all my dearest Spark friends! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but sometimes it feels like I'm close! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Let's see--since I last updated a lot has happened.

Today is day 123 of no refined sugar, pasta and rice, and I believe almost 2 months since any refined flour, but that could be off a little--it's been at least 6 weeks. You would think I'd dropped a LOT of weight! But no--this postmenopausal, insulin resistant, hypothyroid gal just holds on to those stubborn pounds with my life, UNFORTUNATELY! I've only lost 7#'s since June 13th, but I'm not giving up the ghost quite yet! emoticon

Some friends blessed us with a trip out West and it was a fabulous time! We went to Mt. Rushmore, canoed and hiked in the Wyoming mountains, hiked at Devil's Tower, rode horses, visited Laura Ingalls Wilder's home, and just had a blast! Sammy likes to tell everyone that he got altitude sickness! That part wasn't fun! emoticon

Mary turned 11!

WOW! Here was her picture when I started SP She seemed to grow up overnight!

She also entered the fair this year--as a Jr. 4-H gal and won 2 firsts on her bread and cookies, a special award for her bread, and 1sts on both her bunnies.

We also got to visit our VERY dear friends in South Dakota! Here are some pics she took.

Okay, well that's probably enough pictures! emoticon

I'm still doing Trim Healthy Mama for my eating plan--basically a controlled carb and low glycemic diet, and I really love it even though I'm a TURTLE emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon when it comes to weight loss!

My husband is still without work--9 months, but there are some REAL possibilities so I hope soon I have good news. God has met us EVERY single step of the way! All our bills are paid, and food on the table! Praise His Name!!!!!

Furiously getting ready to start the new 2013-2014 school year, and I'll also be tutoring through the school year so I'll be very busy.

Loads of love to each one of you! I remember you guys OFTEN with great affection!

{{{{huge hugs}}}} Susan

Glad you are back! I am in the process of eliminating those white starchy foods too. It is not that easy, but I am getting there.

You went to a beautiful area. I hope to go again someday.

Hugs! Cheryl

Enjoyed your post. I don't get on this forum much any more since we don't have chatting going on. I found until I went on a low carb diet I just couldn't seem to loose. I have low thyroid also. It took a while to get used to eating low carb but it seems to be working as I am only 1 lb from my goal.

Enjoyed all the pictures.

remember slow and steady wins the race. I have not really lost either but I still feel better. It is awesome when you get to say Hey God is taking care of me. We have gone through similiar things. Praise God that your eyes are in the right direction.

Looks like you have had a fun summer. I was wondering if your husband had gotten a new job yet. I will continue praying for that, and your family. We visited Devil's Tower and Mount Rushmore 18 years ago. It was a lot of fun. My daughter wants to go back since she doesn't remember it. She was only 17 months old. emoticon

Thank you so much for the update!
You could not have picked a better part of the United States to vacation! We camped in the Black Hills for 23 years with our 2 boys. There was always something to do. Lots of good memories.

Sounds like things are going well. I will put a job for your hubby on my prayer list! What a fun trip. You were in my neck of the woods again. I recognized a lot of those places!! That weight will come off! Keep doing what you are doing!

You're an incredible role model for how God's love gets you through the tough times. Stay strong and faithful, and you'll soon have more rewards you were not expecting. I love Mt Rushmore and Devil's Tower . . . it's been too long since I've made the trip (Sept 21, 2001). May God fulfill all your hopes and dreams. Hug, hug -- Evelyn
