Well, what a wonderful week!
I have had the pleasure of enjoying some wonderful times during my 2 weeks of annual leave.
It started with a surprise delivery on Thursday last week of a wonderful flower arrangement and a balloon with a big Happy Birthday on it. This had been sent by my darling dad and stepmum, step sister and her family.
Then on Friday I hit the big 60 and went out to lunch with my darling hubby.
We were given a voucher for a restaurant , some months ago as thank you for caring for my neighbour's 2 Cocker Spaniels who needed medication, feeding and cuddles twice a day.
So the voucher use was put to good on my birthday and the weather behaved and it was a glorious sunny mild day. I have taken photos and have to up load somehow off my phone onto the computer. Once done I will post.
On the Saturday was the night the football team we follow was playing it's last home game, we are 3rd on the ladder, so doing very well.
We met with friends at a bar close by and had a late lunch and then watched an amazing game of football. We did the Mexican wave 5 times going round the stadium in one long session.
On Sunday we had about 30 adults and 10 children come and join us at our home for a finger food lunch.
I did Sparkpeople proud and had a huge fruit platter, huge vegetable platter, antipasto platter, sushi rolls, wraps with salad and meat, Greek salad ,the only pastry food was sausage rolls and spinach and feta rolls. The only sweet food was 1 small bag of liquorice, 2 small bags of party mix lollies. 1 bowl of mixed nuts. And of course the birthday cake which was Black Forrest.
I did one of the tricks I learnt with Sparkpeople and had the same glass of champagne all afternoon, drinking water as my main drink. I did not eat much as I was too busy!
This is the first time I have ever had such a large group of people attend my birthday, so found it very loving and joyful. There were family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, some had travelled up to 5 hours to be there. A day I will never forget.
Then today one of my dear friends who could not make it on Sunday took me out to lunch, and we left at 4.30pm after arriving at 1pm.
In between all that I have been very vigilant with my food choices and exercising almost every day.
Have sorted out all the paperwork that was on the 3 surfaces in the office.
Am currently in the throes of sorting out documents and figures for the accountant who is doing a house call at 10am today to prepare our tax return forms .
In between all that poor old Sooty had a ligament repair operation about 4 weeks ago, so I try and take him to the river beach for his physiotherapy. He uses the repaired leg for walking, but continues to lift it up when running.
But considering his age he is doing well.
It has been great being on holidays as I was able to purchase tickets for the Bruce Springsteen concert here in Perth next February. If I had of been working I would not have been sitting at the computer like a vulture waiting for the booking to begin. I registered with a site that allows early booking and you have to remember a code and you HAVE to be ready to start the process as soon as the time for booking commences and then you have 15mins for the whole process. Talk about mind racking!
But we got tickets to a concert that sold out in minutes! So very lucky! The whole process took up a whole morning!
Well I had better stop now and try and get some more sleep!
Hope you are all well and I apologise for not being a very good Sparkfriend on line, I do think of you all and referred a friend and I think she joined?
