Breakfast

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

I have never been a breakfast eater except when I was younger and when we would go camping. People tell me all the time you should eat breakfast it's the most important meal of the day. Then on Spark coach they say about the same thing but that eating breakfast is a good way to start you day off and possible help you lose weight.

Here is my problem I don't like cereal in milk. I am not a big fan of milk altogether. For me a hot cup of tea is good enough. So I skip breakfast. Not good right. 3 meals a day is what my plan is.

So I am going to look up some recipes for some good breakfasts and also healthy.

I never liked milk - I used to always eat my cereal with orange juice. It sounds weird but it was good - especially Raisin Bran - yum! you could try a little bit once and see if you like the taste/texture.

Hey Deb here's a fav of mine I'll share with you.

It's called an Egg Mug........ I used egg beaters.

Spray a coffee mug with cooking spray add 1/3 cup egg beaters, 1 Tbsp reduced fat shredded cheese, 1 tsp real bacon bits, and 1 slice WW bread broken into small pieces. Stir all together and cover, then microwave for 1 and 1/2 minutes, leave covered in microwave for another minute and then enjoy.

You can add anything you like instead of bacon and/or cheese to the egg and bread mix .

Hope you like eggs emoticon

How about making enough dinner to have a dinner for breakfast, the next morning. This should get you the protein, and low carbs you need to have energy, especially after you eat a fruit serving a couple of hours later, than lunch a nice salad with meat/eggs/beans/or nuts and seeds with some dried fruit added. and then a cup of celery juice or cup of green tea and an apple/pear/grapes and then go on to another dinner which will also become the next days breakfast.

Hope this is helpful for you
Hugs
Linda

Yes, I do think having breakfast is important . You can get protein powder & mix it with water, but you have to be careful what kind, you want a kind that is lower cal.
I eat a whole grain english muffin with a fried egg on one side & 1TBL. natural PB on the other. I make an oatmeal & put in coconut & PB, walnuts. Yogurt with grapenuts mixed in & a banana is another.Be careful with the yogurt if you try it some contains a lot of sugar.
Like you said there's muffin recipes etc. on spark recipe ! Good Luck ! emoticon

I am not a cereal eater however I have found a new cheerio mix I really like. It is called Multi Grain cheerios with one cup contains 110 calories and 20 grams of whole wheat. I use 1/4 cup of fat free half and half which makes it really taste good.
