Pookie updates!

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

So, nearly 16 weeks pregnant now, we have an early private scan next week, which includes and anatomy tour, a 4D sneak peek (though as the lovely lady on phone said, they do look a bit "scrawny" at this point! And also going to find out the gender as well. We can't wait another month for the NHS scan!!

We are not sharing the gender though, nor names that we choose, as we haven't really talked names yet, a little bit, but not properly decided as we wanted to wait until we knew what Cub is. Then decide on a name.

But again with not sharing, as you are guaranteed to find somebody who knew somebody with that name who was horrible/rude etc and spoil the name for you. Having worked in childcare for a long time, I have a long list of names off the books simply from knowing too many little toads over the years... or the fact I have three of them with that name at the same time.

All seems to be ok, finally feeling less sick, and the weather is also seeming to finally be cooling down which is making things feel better too.

Hi Pookie! Sounds so exciting. This is such a wonderful time for you and your hubby. When I had my daughter, they did not have ultra sound, etc. I am sorry I have been missing in action. I now am having physical therapy and ultra sound for this achilles tendon injury, its been two months now and I am getting ready for surgery on the same ankle on October 9th. I have had a lot going on with appts, etc. So glad that you are feeling better. I am so happy for you! Take care, before you know it your baby will be here! emoticon emoticon emoticon June

Good to hear from you. I am glad to know that illness is calming down. Your private scan sounds exciting with the extra features.
We got a lot of ribbing with choosing our girl's name because her initials spell ELF and we're great admirer's of Professor Tolkien. We did put a lot of thought into initials because my mother's as child spelled SAD and we thought it could put a lot of burden on someone (Mom deals with a lot of depression) and kids can be rough if initials spell inappropriate things.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I went through the same stress when choosing a name for our youngest. We kept it pretty quiet but on the day he was born learned that his first and middle name are the name of a fairly famous (but obviously not to me...) car auction company. We are now able to laugh it off and I say, at least it's a company that tends to deal with very expensive cars!! Congrats again!!

My older son is named for a Dodge engine.

My younger son is named for Sarah Connor's true love in The Terminator.

I'm sure you'll pick a wonderful name for your Cub!

Pookie, Enjoy this pregnancy. It is a very special time in yours and your DH's lives. I know how excited you are for the next scan. I don't blame you for not telling anybody what the baby's gender is. Keep a few things a secret; that's half the fun. I hope that all continues to go well. emoticon

    Exciting times!

Glad you're feeling less sicky - that can be horrible as I discovered.

Enjoy this time - it goes by all too quickly, as EVERYBODY who has ever been pregnant will tell you!
