Apron? Skin removal?

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

Talk about skin removal and shows like extreme weight loss drive me crazy! OK I get it, I never weighed 300 pounds but I have been 217. I worked out while I lost weight. drank tons of water and used lotion! But yes after 3 kids, excessive weight gain, I have extra skin. It might just be on stomach but its still there.

Why is it all about the next fix??? Why can we not be happy we lost 10, 15, 100 pounds?
I say keep the loose skin to remind you of where you never wanna be again.

The other day I met a guy who had skin removal last May.He had lost over 200.So he had a huge amount of extra skin.He has to wear a drip bag tied to his leg.He says he has a few more weeks before he can get rid of it.yuck! It makes me rethink the skin removal option

Awww!! I have an apron too!! My weight went from 128 lbs to 202 lbs on my 5'1 frame while carrying my twins full term in 2006!! I literally looked like I had a stability ball attached to my waist!! emoticon emoticon Rather large twins for my short frame: 7 lbs 9 oz & 6 lbs 6 oz!! So I wear my Mother Tiger stripes with Pride!! emoticon

I do lots of hanging lower ab work & obliques & I'm seeing my V-shape at the bottom of my waist!! emoticon emoticon

Yep. Having kids permanently changes your body. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Definitely wear it proud.

When I got where you are, I got so depressed about my skin, which I was still wearing spans with my jeans, but now that I've gained back my weight, it doesn't look nowhere as bad as I had thought. I'd deal with it if I could get back to that weight. I went to the surgeon and they quoted me 9,000$ for removal just on my stomach.

I decided that I had two choices: I could stay fat and be the Michelin man, or I could loose the weight and be a Shar-Pei. I could wish that I was young and my skin would shrink to my new size like a rubber sheet, but at my age that's not going to happen. So I'm with you: I am embracing my loose skin as a sign of the hard work I did and the healthy future I'm moving towards.

    Thanks for this blog.
