Water Water everywhere...

and soooo many drops to drink!

LOL :) Just a little play on a popular phrase. I've bought several gallons of water and since Friday I've had about 3 gallons of water. Still no sign of the stone.

But I decided to take today and tomorrow off so that I could give my body some time to REST and take my pain/nausea pills without worrying about my job. I felt guilty about missing work but then I thought, Kidney stones are a big deal. If I don't take care of me WHO will? I live alone... and I am a firm believer that we must fight Self-neglect with every ounce of strength we have!

So I took a few days to rest and get myself together.

I learned something amazing too... there is NO way I drink the amount of water I need to drink on a daily basis. During this time of intentionally drinking "a lot" of water I realized 1. I still am not drinking that much water and 2. my body must have been chronically dehydrated because it is basically a sponge so far.

I'm aiming to drink about a gallon a day until the stone makes it's appearance... and I'm back to work on Thursday so I hope it is by then. I went to the ER last Friday.

I did a quick strength workout because I didn't want to be completely lazy and did 50 squats, 50 bicycle crunches, 100 knee lifts, and 50 calf raises. I am happy I did something, and when I can do more... I will!

Good night everyone

Taking care of yourself is very important! With all of this water you are drinking you will be flushing out a lot of body toxins as well, so that's great!

Good point, NellJones! Thanks for the reminders!

I hope your stone comes out soon, it certainly doesn't sound like a fun way to spend your time away from the office! PS... definitely get lots of additional rest, your body is working hard to try to find balance again!!!
and without your health, your job will see even LESS of you, so taking a week off is peanuts in the grand scheme of things!!! Do take care of YOURSELF, no one else will!!!

My son is a Registered Dietician. He tells his clients that the command to drink so much water a day is recent, sort of appeared at about the time that the bottled water industry was created. You need to drink 64 (or so) oz of any liquid. It can be part of your food, or soup, or coffee (caffeine isn't the diuretic some would have us believe, or there wouldn't be a need for diuretic pills). If you like drinking lots of water, go ahead, though.
