Tuesay foot is swollen..ick

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Trying to keep my leg elevated is no all my work with crutches have led to a swollen foot. I called the surgery center and they said to elevate the foot. it is going to be a big pile of pillows tonight.

The day was ok, my friend stopped over with lunch and goodies. It was nice to see her and spend time together. She even took my dog for a walk,

Going in to work for a few hours tomorrow. Determined to keep that leg up!

Sweet dreams... emoticon

Can you get it checked? I don't want to be a naysayer, but it was after I had surgery that they diagnosed me with a blood clot due to the tourniquet and I had to be put in hospital on bed rest for a week and take that coumadin... This is seeming like it's taking longer than you expected.... if elevating it didn't work, please get it checked.

You are one of those always on the go people, so I'm sure this is a bit of a trial for you, but it's as they say, this too shall pass, right? Take care of yourself so you can be out there zumba-ing before you know it!

Aww.. Sorry your foot is swollen too! Pat is right as far as proper elevation is concerned. Please stay home from work and rest if you can. The more you aggravate things the longer it will take to heal..

Pat from ME gave great advice on proper elevating techniques. Put yourself first--your body is telling you what it needs.

You are a mathematician and you know the laws of gravity. Do not put the pillows just under your foot it is best to wedge it from the butt so your entire leg is well supported and not pressing the knee joint, just let it relax. Too bad you have to go in to work if it swells just take it easy at home. HUGS and much love Pat in Maine.
PS DH and I are off to BH tomorrow and stay in the RV. I am so happy. I have cooked and packed all our food so we know just what we will eat.
