SUMMER IN FORT LAUDERDALE PART 10

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

One of the things you learn living in South Florida during August is that being in an air-conditioned place in the afternoon is the place to be and why not a restaurant? This afternoon Allen and I went to the Quarterdeck where he had Chicken Francis with a baked potato and I had a turkey, lettuce, tomato and onion with mustard on rye and a side of broccoli.

On Thursday Arnie and I went to the Quarterdeck--they are running a 'buy 1 get 1 free' deal--he had a turkey burger while I had the turkey sandwich only for variation I had it on toast!

On Wednesday Allen and I went to the Rendezvous where he had a skirt steak with fries (and, shhhhhhh, 2 French pastries!!) while I did a turkey and cheese on French bread and they put bacon on it which melted into the cheese! (This year we have been going to the Cafe Vico for their excellent 2-4-1 lunches!)

Getting away from food--I do talk about other things!!!--Norman went on vacation to New England for a month and I am plant sitting his Ming tree and I hoping it looks as good when he returns!! (2 years later he once again went to New England on vacation and I took care of a plant for him but it wasn't a Ming tree--I will have to ask him what happened to that one!)

The last two signs were in a restaurant--I don't remember which one--and they made me smile so I took pictures of them--love the last one, the one below! LOL
