The last two weeks have been just really weird for me. I attribute it to lack of sleep and causing me just not to think straight. I hope that's all it is. The nurse at church says the not sleeping may be to my being over tired. I was working really long hours to sort, clean, move furniture, clean . . . blah, blah, blah . . . . Anyway, it finally caught up to me Sat/Sun.
On Saturday, I was at a Sheetz paying for some gas and knew I had received an email that week that I would receive a freebie from them with my card. I just could not remember what. I asked the sales clerk to check it out, and sure enough there was a free gob loaded to our card. There I was, not in the official line in the "ropes of waiting" and didn't even realize it looked like I jumped line. However, when I was lining up, there was no one in the ropes, just one guy checking out at the counter. He gave me a strange look, and I couldn't figure that out until . . . the lady told me where the free gobs were and that I could get one and get back in line . . . Then I realized, she was politely directing to the line that I should have been in the first place. I have never done that before! Totally oblivious to something I have probably done thousands of times. Getting in line where I should have been. I felt dumb and oh, so tired. It was so hard to think straight.
Then Saturday night, I did not get much sleep again. So tired Sunday AM, but still went to church. We had a great service! SO glad I went. But . . .
DD and Family were here for lunch. She brought corn on the cob to do. We were trying to put the final cobs in the stockpot and there was too much water. I grabbed a dipper and a glass and did one of the dumbest things ever. Put the water in the glass, the glass bottom blew out and scalding water landed on my thong-clad foot. Oh, the burning pain! Now, talk about a Wakeup Call! I went racing to the bathroom to run cold water over it for awhile. DD cleaned up the mess I made in the kitchen. A little splashed on one of the twins but she had shoes and socks on and seemed to be fine. Just a small pink mark. DH wanted me to rush to the hospital for care, but I said we had enough people in the house to pray and aloe to use that it would be OK. Took a little while to find the aloe gel, but as soon as I did and put it on, the burning subsided. Each time the burning started again, I put more gel on. That was throughout the afternoon. Yesterday, there was no pain and only a small red mark. Spent a few hours shopping with DD and family and it was fine. Now my knees . . . that's another story for another time.
Maybe this is proof that lack of sleep can cause dumbness. Last night, I finally got more sleep and hopefully today, I will be a little smarter!
