This is the first time I've participated in BLC and I found it fun and entertaining. I didn't lose the 1 pound I week that I had hoped for - more like 1/2 to 1/4 pound a week - but I did lose. That's a lot better than the alternative.
One thing that I have done right during this round is to increase the number of fruits and vegetables I eat. I've also tried to reduce my breads and pasta to one serving a day.
One thing I want to change or improve on in the next round is my aversion to exercise. I am trying to go to the gym Monday - Friday and work out for at least 45 minutes. I need to increase that to 60 minutes.
Until the next round of BLC my goal is to continue with the good habits I've made. I'm going to continue going to the gym and follow the Couch to 5K plan. I have made a calendar that I carry in my gym bag that tells me how much to walk and run each day. I'll continue to make a weekly menu. When I shop I will only buy what I need for the menu. That'll stop a lot of temptation. I'll build the splurges into the menu. If I get the time I'll record my menu into the food tracker while I make it. That way I'll know that what I have planned for that day is within my calorie & nutrition goals . I was doing that last winter but the gardening season took that time away from me.
I'm going to continue to test foods to see what I am reactive to. I had a reaction today to Quaker Oats Instant Grits that was really bad. Besides the intestinal distress, cramps, gas, and foggy head my hands were swollen. I went to my doctor for the pain in the joint of one finger. I already knew I had a touch of arthritis but this pain was more intense. He sent me for a blood draw to test for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Celiac disease. I asked for the Celiac test. I don't think I have it but it's something to rule out. I know I have a sensitivity to wheat, milk, and potatoes.
