My Current Rewards List

I decided I am going to share my current rewards list, even though I feel a little shy about it. The book "Change Anything" talks about how incentives don't have to be big to be effective; something as simple as a sticker, a cheap dollar-store token, or a workout headband can be just as motivating (and possibly even better) than promising yourself a costly reward. According to the book, the reason is that if the reward is something that you really really want, you might be tempted to get it even if you don't reach your fitness goal, or you might become more fixated on the reward than on the fitness efforts themselves.

That said, I'm still looking forward to the "big" prizes as rewards for meeting "bigger" goals. Here's my list:

*Get a 7-day Sparkstreak for tracking food/fitness---sticker/token: DONE!
*Lose 5 lbs---fit into my skinny jeans (size 12): DONE!
*Lose 10 lbs---its own reward!
*50+ Sparkpoints daily---get my Silver Medal Sparktrophy by Aug 5: DONE!
*50+ Sparkpoints daily---get my Gold Medal Sparktrophy by Sept 4: DONE!
*50+ Sparkpoints daily---get my Target Sparktrophy by Oct 31
*200 fitness min/wk---new Goody Slideproof headband: DONE!
*Strength train 3x/wk---new workout mat
*Complete 1 workout---new headband: DONE!
*Complete 7 workouts---new headband: DONE!
*Complete 45 workouts---new track jacket: DONE!
*Complete 90 workouts---new athletic shoes
*Get into the 160's---velvet headband OR volumizer & silk scarf (it's a tiechel thing)
*Reach 165---new Speedo swimsuit
*Get into the 150's---new stylish watch
*Reach 155---PRICELESS!!! (my goal weight)

I also developed a sticker chart with a different animal sticker for each level, so I can earn a sticker each week that I stick with Spark. You wouldn't believe how excited I get just anticipating getting the next sticker. So far, I am up to week 5, so I have earned an Ant, Bee, Queen Ant, Queen Bee, and a Small Butterfly. Next week I will be earning the Big Butterfly and for week 7 I get a Tasmanian Tiger token (it glows in the dark!)

Okay, so now you know my secrets. Embarrassing but true!
