I had knee surgery on August 8 and this is my first day back at work since then. I do most of my working out at work because we have a fabulous pool and gym. Right now I'm not really exercising for calorie burn-just a little moving to get the knee healthy. I'm allowed to do water walking and some very limited stationary bike. Nothing vigorous is recommended right now. So, this is a habit-forming time for me. If I can get myself in the habit of going to the gym five days per week and walking one day at home, then I've got it made. I need to do these things for my knee right now. I can make it more vigorous later when the doc says ok.
The most amazing part for me this morning was getting on the scale at the pool. If the scale is to be believed, I've lost more than ten pounds since that surgery! I'm not sure I'm fully convinced yet-it was wavering a lot as physician's scales can do. But it it was pretty insistent that I was way down. Now I need to build momentum with my healthy eating.
