My arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus went well last Friday. My leg was remarkably pain free until Saturday night and then it wasn't awful- just hurting enough to have to take a round of pain reliever through the night. The worst after effect of the whole ordeal was the way my throat felt after the anesthesia. I must have had a gallon of water before I could get any food down. Today, I cleaned up all the iodine and replaced the bandages and I feel ready to start a routine of very gentle exercises. I found a nice workout on Livestrong.com.
I've got the week off from work so I'm hoping to take my time to do this right.
Oh Wow, while I've been writing this, the hospital called to check up on me and to see if I had any questions. Very Nice touch, I think. They suggested one of the exercises I'd found on Livestrong.com and reminded me to call my doc for a follow up appt.
So far, so good, I guess. Now if I can just keep myself healthy eating-wise and not gain a ton of weight while I'm so immobile, I'll be happy.
