Return of the Chunky

So today, I actually WORKED OUT. I mean, weights, aerobics, the things that make you remember the 80's; mambos and cha-chas, and repeater knees, oh my!

For a while I was doing what I figured were functionally fit activities like hiking, kayaking, wandering around the grocery store... Evidently, you don't burn a heck of a lot of calories with that last one. Huh. Bummer. So when I saw the boot camp challenge here on SP, I was a little nervous to commit, but I have to tell you that Nicole is quite lovable and before I knew it I was looking on you tube for a aerobic segment so I could fulfill my cardio commitment there on the challenge.

In typical Fran fashion, I started the challenge on a Thursday and then immediately saw that was probably a stupid thing to do, with the weekend and all. But I also thought, what the heck does that have to do with anything? So it's Saturday and Sunday instead of Wednesday and Thursday, so what? I stayed active, but I didn't do the video challenges. We were invited to a picnic and I ate really good, healthy food and I did have some homemade peach ice cream. I mean, c'mon.

All in all I am really feeling good about the shift to fitness that I missed for so long. I will still hike and kayak. I will still gripe about it. But I think, no, I know that I feel better after I'm done, so I will post that somewhere to remind me of the good juju that comes with moving and sweating and (God help me) cha-cha-ing.

Today, I am challenging myself to be comfortable in my own skin.

    If you're not doing exercise you love, you won't keep up with it! Glad you found some things to keep you motivated!
