A different sweat day!

Monday, August 26, 2013

Saturday I got to watch my oldest play in her first college soccer game. She was one of only two freshmen that started and the only one to play the entire 90 minutes of the game and 10 minutes of overtime. She looked like she fit right in! It was so hot that I was sweating just sitting in the shade of my chair! To say the least she was tired when she finished.

Today I did some volunteer work at a horse barn. I spent 3 hours cleaning two horse tanks that were covered in algae. A lot of scraping and scrubbing, then rinse. I repeated the process more times than I can count. I ended up logging it as farm work for 90 minutes. It wasn't much cardio, but it was a great upper body workout and I have a feeling my arms will be sore in the morning.

Hopefully, I'll get a run in tomorrow. This entire week is supposed to be between 95 - 98 degrees F. I'll have to run at night. We've been getting a decent breeze after 9:00 PM.

Stay cool everyone!

Great that your daughter played so much as a Freshman. You got a good cardio workout in that barn. Our mornings are cooling off..but the afternoons are warm.

Hope you get a run in.

That sounds like a great workout to me! How was the run? I don't know if I would be able to sleep after running that late.
Run On!

I'm interested to see if you were able to run - it's so darn hot and humid, even in the evening. It's crazy, isn't it? Are you able to sleep if you go out and run at 9 pm?

UGH! That sounds like Hard Work ... not much fun (except for getting to see your daughter play!). Since I work in a church office, I don't get much physical labor in my days. I admire your commitment and know you love horses, so I trust this was a chore you didn't mind TOO much.

Be careful out there in the heat. Today's a rest day on my schedule, and when I walked out of the office building... whoosh... like the air got sucked right out into the heat!

    Great job for your daughter.
That is sure hot. I don't think I would do too well in that kind of heat. Need to drink tons of water to hydrate.
Hope you have a great week
