DH & Jetta did make the Bloomington IN Herald Times story about honoring the fallen WWII hero that came home to rest after 70 years. Thought you'd like to see the picture. What a wonderful thing it was to have the opportunity to salute PFC Winkley in this awesome procession yesterday. Something I'll never forget.

So at church today, our Anglican Priest, who is also a Brown Co. police officer, and who was driving the police vehicle just in front of the hearse carrying the remains of PFC Winkley yesterday in the procession, read to us a long, emotional account of how this experience impacted him. That homily is also something I'll never forget. There wasn't a dry eye in the church by the time he finished. Truly unforgettable.

So, the past two days have been definitely been filled with thoughts of remembrance & thanks to PFC Winkley. A person I never knew, who fought selflessly & courageously for America and gave all he could give for freedom. He has made a deep impression on many people and personally I know I'll think of him often. This experience will stop me cold from ever giving anything but my best to difficult situations.

Did a good big load of wash & hung it out on the line after church. Did the cardio walking and got some more odds & ends done around the house.

Mileage: 9.33 miles

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Sunday was blessed & sunny. emoticon

The kids and I have stood along a city street in Columbus while a procession for a young man and father from Brown Co who died in Afghanistan traveled though town. It is very sobering and still brings tears to my eyes when I remember. We held signs that said, THANK-YOU and GOD BLESS YOU. To do this, it stays with you. I hope it brings comfort to the family to know they aren't alone in their grief and others remember years later and still get teary, too.
