New Week

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Today is a new week, time to plan for a healthy one.
I am trying a few new recipes and get more fresh veggies and fruits
waiting for the Jonathan apples to be ready so I can make apple sauce for the coming year...

Still reading the book Shades of Hope....and keeping busy..

My Dad is not doing well these last few days, He requested an apple pie so I am taking him a pie this morning and spending the day with him....

Have a healthy week....

My mouth is watering think about apples. I live in eastern PA and the local apples are not there yet but I'm getting anxious waiting to make applesauce, apple dumplings, apple pie, apple crisp and baked apples:) Can you tell I'm craving all things apple if I missed any send the recipe to me. I use
Granny Smith and Pink Lady for applesauce and those are not available till about Oct. So I will
have to use the earlier September varieties of apples to make the other items.
Give Dad a hug from all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I lost my mom in May. It was hard as she was in Chicago and I was 5 hrs away in Wisconsin.
Homemade applesauce sounds wonderful. Do you freeze or can it? Let me know how your new recipes come out. I'm always looking for new healthy recipes. I love to cook and read cookbooks like novels. Have a good week
