Last day of summer...
Sunday, August 25, 2013
I can't believe it. Tomorrow, both myself and my girls will start back to school. It has been a lovely break, and I'm actually looking forward to getting back to a normal schedule.
Some summer highlights for me:
*Lots of wonderful time with my girls - hiking, lazing out, baking - all good!
*I went on several out of town trips, but I worked out on each one. I never went more than 2 pounds above my goal weight, and I'm actually UNDER right now.
*I became a certified turbo kick instructor!! It is official now, I've got the certificate and everything!
*I went to Jamaica and lived "not in a resort." My girls were exposed to a 3rd world country, but with an eye to what it means to be a spoiled american. We all learned a lot.
*My husband and I are loving the fact that the girls get along better as they are older, and we can leave them on their own and have some "couple time" on trips and at home.
*I've had to walk both of my girls through upsetting friend stuff. Man, it is harder to watch them go through it than it was to go through it myself when I was their age (and that SUCKED!)
*We got new next door neighbors, and they seems LOVELY. That is a big deal, quality of life-wise. It is so important to be around good people. (I'm giving them a welcome to the hood party today!)
All in all, a great summer. It was fun, but busy, with a lot of growth and change. I know all the busy-ness means I'm not always present here, but I'm still sparking, and I will continue to check in when I'm able.
Now, I'm off to host my second pool party in two days, and then I'll probably hit the hay early so I can be ready for the big day tomorrow!
Hope everyone is doing well!
