Wow! What a day! Not only did I participate in the Strongman Competition at the Bremerton Y today, I even managed to exceed my expectations. I participated in all 6 events (thought I would only be able to do 4): I managed to throw 20, 25, 30, and 35 lb kettlebells left handed, completed the sled pull in under a minute, did the rope pull in a minute-10, flipped the tractor tire 40 yards in a reasonable time, completed 13 135 lb dead lifts and even managed to throw a 30 lb log over a 4 ft. bar. I am hoarse from cheering my friends and competitors, tired beyond words, and satisfied beyond measure. I am eternally grateful for the dedication and caring of my fellow competitors, my dear friend Ann Cummings (who kicked major gluteus maximus), new friends Jay Humenay and Patti Titterness Ray (who also Rocked It), and my phenomenal friend and trainer, Ross Gilbert (without whom I am sure I would not have had the fortitude or confidence to even attempt an event like today's). Feeling very blessed right now!
