The call came this morning.

Your Grandma passed away in her sleep last night.

Silence.

A profound silence between me and my Mom.

We all know that call was coming. She was 96 almost 97. She was tired and just stuck in a nursing home. She wasn't happy.

I'm glad that she went in her sleep.

I'm glad that I knew her.

I'm glad that there will always be a good and sometimes quarky memory or her.

I'm glad that there was laughter, tears, stories, projects, summers, winters, falls, springs, gardening, milking cows, poems, walking in the pasture with her.

I'm glad that she has gone, living a full and healthy life.

I'm glad that she has so many that have gone before her, to meet her once again.

I'm sure God will say to her, "Well done."

Every thought you put there, she felt the same for you. Remember Gods promise of a tenfold return, or, in the vernacular, John Lennon wrote, "In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make".
