Day 12 Discover a new smell.
I love what I find in my organic food cooperative. This one is a blend of citrus, eucalyptus and tea tree.
Day 13 Count your blessings. When I started writing, I realized I could go on for pages. Not just people but even things like electricity, running water, warm water. I lived without these things in the Peace Corps.
Day 14 Prepare and eat a healthy meal. Spicy turkey meatloaf, cabbage, brown rice and vegetables.
Day 15 Memorize a poem. I memorized "Haz Como el Sol" by Pablo Neruda. I posted the video on my FB page.
Day 16 Make a commitment to change a bad habit, then change it. I do not sleep adequately. I am trying to change that!
Day 17 Get out in nature. Luckily, I live near many beautiful area parks and Lake Michigan.
18. Help someone in a small way. There is a great bodega near my house. I saw a lady and her daughter checking out. I said, "I got it" and put my debit card through. It took a second for the lady to realize what I had said since she was not a native English speaker. It turned out it was her birthday and she got so excited (it was only $8.21). I was thrilled it was her birthday though. When I happened to look down, I noticed she had a Quest card. So then I was even happier I helped her out. This is a photo of the bodega.
19. Laugh and smile no matter how you're feeling. Me facing that first pile of essays of the new school year.
20. Turn your errands into an adventure. I went back to playing the Alphabet Game while running errands. I hate being in the car! Here I made it to Z thanks to this Italian restaurant.
