I ate some really sh!tty food yesterday -- food that I am sensitive to. So, today I'm feeling achey, sore, and just bleh.... and I'm trying to get back to feeling healthy!
So I slapped together some of the most detoxifying/antioxidant rich fruits and veggies I knew and juiced them -- it turned out to be quite delicious, so I thought I'd share the recipe! (it's also really, really high in potassium, which is what I needed after eating too much sodium).
Detox Beet Juice (recipe makes 4-5 cups of juice)
2 large beets with greens attached, washed
3-4 medium-sized valencia or blood oranges
1 pint blueberries
1 large lemon, peeled
1 square inch of ginger
2 cups of pineapple
Slice everything up so it fits in your juicer, take the peels off of the citrus. Juice it all, including the beet greens, then pour over ice and enjoy! If it's too spicy/tangy for your taste, you can add more orange or pineapple to the mix.
It made me feel a lot better! :)
