4 NO's recovery day!

Saturday, August 24, 2013

We both passed out last night, DD is still sawing logs. Cleaning, errands, garden watering, lawn mowing, etc today. I will start doing laundry soon and continue to unpack. I did manage to eliminate two whole boxes of things for the trip home,BUT we then had a large bag of laundry and her new Tees and hoodies to pack, so it was almost even-steven. We almost needed a shoe horn and some WD40 to get everything in the car and close the doors!

Going through mail, only two bills!!(thank goodness) and just winding down from driving almost 1,000 miles..I think it was 990 or something close. Anybody who has ever been to the U.P, knows that you must plan every trip and pack emergency bag for a trip to the store or anywhere. One day trip was a three hour round trip. In the forest. Another side trip to Crisp Point was literally on a two-track logging road in the forest. Nothing but trees, wild animals and our car. My new tires really out-performed on that logging road!! Michelin never tested their rubber on THESE kinds of conditions!! The last thing on those roads was a back hoe and firefighters equipment.

We love our vacation, but DD was VERY happy to be home and to sleep in her own bed.. I could move up north in a week!!!!!

Wow you went for the remote places. The first week in Maine we were test driving a car in a rural area. I asked directions and was told next right for augusta. We drove down a logging road, we never knew they were not real roads. OH! My I was outrageously panic stricken I yelled to DH, Trees BLOODY trees get us out of here.
Now wherever we go out of state -like Nevada etc it is like I am in a goldfish bowl, I fell in love with the trees. Not the remoteness though. I am still uncomfortable Thanks I am so glad I can now read all your NO's again on DH laptop, emoticon emoticon emoticon 'S emoticon emoticon to both of you. Pat
