Day 75: The Real ME Trying to Get it all Done.

My first week of school has ended and I must say I am weary. I have been at school until 6pm most every day. I get to work at 6:45 am and get my room ready. After school I am making copies, preparing for each class and then go home. By this time I am exhausted. But with the help of my daughter I am exercising most afternoons.

To my delight, I lost weight this week. I am assuming since I am on my feet most of the day, I am keeping active. Even though I am exercising, I am not at my ultimate activity level due to my tiredness. But even low intensity is better than nothing at all.

So I celebrate my weight loss. I AM happy about it, I just need to come up with better ways to get everything accomplished. Work cannot be all-consuming. I do need time for me and my family.

If anyone has some ideas for me I would welcome them. I also realize this is only the first week of school. Once I get into the groove of things, I will be able to rest and not do so much extra. But until that time, I must find the balance. Otherwise I am looking for a breakdown of some sort. AND I DO NOT NEED THAT!

    Well done with keeping up with the exercise. I think if you protect that exercise time and make it a priority, in a few weeks your capacity will improve. Then you will be able to intensify the exercise, but no need to ncrease the time.
Until then, can DD help you with tidying or photocopying? Can you do your copying every other day? Or once a week?
Can you get the students to tidy up before they go? After all, it s their classroom, too: they should show some pride In it. Could you get them to tidy their desks or their space before they leave for lunch and at the end of the day? You could appoint two room monitors, make it different students each day or week, so everyone gets a turn. It will go quicker, and you could tiake care of your space while they get the rest of the room ready.
Good luck, and remember, your stamina will increase if you keep going.
And congratulations on releasing weight!

    Congrats on the weight loss. And you are so correct - you have to find time for you and your family. I understand how the beginning of school consumes us. But hang in there!
