Gosh, it's not like I haven't been busy, because I have, but I just haven't taken the time to blog about it. Mini catch up:
Monday - walked 11 minutes, run/walk 30 minutes
Tuesday - walk 10 minutes
Wednesday - walk 14 minutes
Thursday - walk 14 minutes
Friday - walk 15 minutes, run/walk 2 hours 7 minutes (9.5 miles)
It's been a crazy week. Hubby and I ran our daughter back to college on Wednesday night. She lives in an apartment but she sublet it for the summer so she had moved most of her clothes home so the new tenant would have space for stuff in the bedroom. It's nice that we live so close to Lincoln - it took us 2 hours to go down, move stuff in and come back.
Today it was pretty hot outside so by the time I got 7 miles in I felt like I was melting - it was about 92 degrees & pretty humid - so I decided to halt my running and finish the last 2.5 miles later in the evening. It felt much better when I got out to finish it, too. I decided to try a 3:1 run:walk ratio and I think it gave me a little more energy. I also tried to keep my pace a little slower, most miles were an average pace of about 13 minutes/mile. I think I need to keep it slower like that in order for me to be able to finish my half without walking the last few miles. I don't mind if I have to end up walking more of it but I'd like to do my run/walk/run for the entire race.
