and that's happens when you try to rescue a turtle...

Friday, August 23, 2013

my daughter is an animal lover in EVERY sense of the word... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon she ALWAYS has been, she is 17 yrs old, and still has such a huge heart... what? you need an example? well, to this day, any pork, beef, whatever meat, we happen to be eating, she says that pig, cow, lived a long and happy life! (side note: my son, who is 14yrs old, loves to say, "oh heck no! they were cut down in their prime!" thus a dinner fight begins! lol!)

ANYWAY, so... my daughter was driving my son to his friend's house. and there was a turtle emoticon in the road! now, she knows not to swerve or anything... emoticon BUT that doesn't mean she can't park way off to the side of the road, right? well, that is what she did. she got out and helped the little turtle to the side of the road, into the weeds. she promptly got back in the car, her heart filled with joy, for rescuing yet another animal in distress emoticon . as she was trying to pull out the car slid deeper into the ditch, and she tried to recover, making the car go way over on it's side! emoticon she was really scared, told her brother to get out of the car (bless her heart, she wanted to make sure he was safe, so if anything happened, it would only be her), which he did, and FELL out, since the car was on side, on his side of the car. he came around to her side, laughing, saying, "wow! that is just like in the movies!" emoticon emoticon

by the time she got out, there were other cars stopped, and seeing if they were okay, others were stopping traffic. emoticon a person that lived near by got his chains and wench and was working on getting her out. my son, calls home and says non-chalantly, "we're stuck" which led my husband to believe that they were probably just stuck in the mud. my "mom's instinct" was on high alert (before i even knew who it was!) i told my husband to get there right now! emoticon

when he got there, people were making sure the kids were okay, and an ambulance even showed up, asking if everyone was okay! they got the car out, and the car and kids are fine. PRAISE THE LORD!

i am so happy everyone is all right, i gave them a HUGE hug emoticon , as soon as they pulled into the driveway. i pray all the time, for angels emoticon to watch over and protect them. my daughter and husband said that they felt the car could have rolled over quite easily. so i am so thankful that angels were watching over them.

anyway, i think turtles in the area are on their own, from now on! emoticon

and that's what happens when you try to rescue a turtle!

ps. at last check, the turtle is fine! emoticon

Oh my word, I am so glad your kids were fine.. That must have been terrifying for both of them. I am so glad that angels were watching over them and kept them safe...as well as the turtle but I agree, the turtles should watch out for themselves in the future unless there are no inclines to be parked on!

Wow, what a story. . . and all for the sake of a turtle. Glad that the kids are okay, and that so many stopped to help out! That must be an awesome neighborhood of caring people. Does your daughter want to be a vet some day? She sure has the heart for it.
