Hit a wall last night

It rained heavily here yesterday, so I went to the gym after work. I had planned on using the bike for 40 minutes, but didn't get past 22 minutes. It was so hot and humid, and I just wasn't up to doing more.

I was disappointed, but I did half of my workout, and I listened to my body. Today the weather is sunny, so I hope to make up that time outdoors.

    This last Monday and Tuesday my gym was closed for training purposes, during my regular workout time. I changed my game plan and decided to go after work.

Iím really an early bird. By 6PM Iím done, my brain is fried, Iím tired, and I canít focus on much of anything. But I decided I could suck it up for two days. On Monday, I just couldnít get my head into it. I was just leisurely plodding along on the elliptical; not really pushing myself. To make matters worse, the gym was PACKED! I had people coming up to see how many minutes I had left, so they could stand behind the person who was almost done. Every time someone stuck their nose over my shoulder, I lost what little focus I had.

So on Tuesday I decided just to skip the gym. Instead I did a home DVD work out, and I threw in some crunches in the afternoon.

But, thatís life. Sometimes nothing lines up the way you want it. You just have to get back into the habit as soon as possible. And try to have an alternate plan for days when the world is not cooperating.
