So, I have these days every once in awhile. I was dragging when I got home. There was a reason for that though, my oldest daughter Katy broke up with her boyfriend on Monday and Wednesday night was the first time she and I could sit down to talk about it. So we were up till about 1:00 which left me dragging last night. And drinking caffeine all day yesterday instead of getting my water in. Couple that with a harder than normal setting on the bike had the body in an uproar last night.
So I dozed a few times last night but started perking up and went to the gym. At about 30 minutes into my workout the calves started cramping. Then the quads. So about the 35 minute mark I stopped to stretch the calves since every pedal stroke was causing it. Started up again but it was just too bad to continue. So I called the bike workout at the 40 minute mark. Then tried the treadmill and walking was fine for a little till it started up again. So I still ended up getting about what I wanted to get done. Not quite the way I wanted it though and not as good a workout.
So, bottom line is note to self, guzzle water if you donít feel like it! I hate when I have those bad workouts. I then always have to play mind games with myself. To convince myself I am not sliding or something. One good thing I guess is that I usually push myself harder on the next workout though so that is a good thing I guess. So, I am walking home tonight. No slacking off there, I have a nasty long hill to climb and once I start there isnít much chance to stop unless I wimp out and call for a ride. Thatís one reason I like walking or bike riding outside. Usually you donít have the option to quit. You need to keep pushing it till you make it back home.
So my son starts his last cross country season tomorrow. First meet is under the lights. Nice long drive home at 10 or so. We are going to go diving Sunday and get in the water since we are coming up on the end of the dive season. Plus he and I need some alone time to talk about what he is planning to do with his life. Katy spoiled me since she knew she was going to be a teacher from kindergarten I think. He just keeps saying one thing one day then something else the next. With the military idea always in the back of his mind too. I prefer college first then military, but not sure he is ready for that. So he and I will get a good chunk of driving and talking in as well.
Kristy, my youngest is dancing tonight with her salsa dancing team. So I have a busy weekend ahead. Nonstop from tonight till Sunday evening. All this and I need to squeeze in some time to workout. lol
