Day 11 was cross-training. My gym membership gives me access to two locations. I like Fitness, Inc. for it's track and better layout. However, Metro is not as busy and on my cross-training days (Tuesday & Thursday) the swimming pool is Open Swim all day. It is also an adults only gym so there are no little kids in the pool.
I hadn't swam laps for any length of time since I was in my 20's and worked as a lifeguard. I managed to get in 50 but it is a short pool, not olympic size. They weren't continuous, I did have to stop to get my breath after 2 laps. Afterwards I got in the hot tub, then back in the pool to do some pool walking using one of the floating noodles. That really works the legs! I got into the dry sauna for a while and decided to finish up big. Got back into the pool and swam 5 laps without stopping! Not only was this exercise fun it was a NSV.
