the kiddo and I decided to skip the gym "get up, get dressed, PLEASE eat something and let's go" routine in exchange for a "lounge around...I'll brush your hair eventually routine" IT WAS AWESOME, even if I didn't quite know what to do with myself from 8 to 10am (when gym/get ready/driving time is in my schedule)
My cousin came back from her TN trip with around 10-15 gently used coloring books for my daughter. She looked like it was Christmas time again she was so excited.
The kiddo and I successfully avoided Starbucks (because I had my cartoned pre-measured 8 fl oz) and went to Jamba Juice where we ordered the Green veggie smoothie this time. I could definitely taste the veggies, more specifically kale, but it wasn't bad, I got the kid to drink at least 3/4 of it
went to Wal-Mart and bought some more gum, some crab sticks (i love that burst of protein I don't care if the first ingredient isnt crab, its alaskan pollock), more cartoned Starbucks and bananas
tutored my student today and he did GREAT compared to his hum-drum "i dont know you tell me" attitude he had yesterday that I wrote his parents an email about. He asked me questions when he didnt understand something and the more he cooperated with me the more I got a lot of answers to what I am seeing when I evaluate his reading. With all this new data he is letting me peek into I have a lot more ways to help him improve his comprehension and writing too
The kiddo took a nap WITH no milk in a sippy cup. Great victory as I am waging the "stop giving her milk if I have to clean up pee every morning" battle around the house. I had that kid weaned off of needing ANYTHING liquid when she was nearly 18 months old, but once we moved in with my mother I got out voted that she needed milk again if she was screaming. Very frustrating. This time, with data and persistence on my side, people are listening. I feel respected. Amen.
I did watch one mommy show while kiddo napped and wrote a measly 500 words, but on top of the "no more milk to put me to sleep" the kiddo is feeling when she is wet now, and her nap/Mommy's writing time was cut short when I heard her whimpering a few times about her wet Pull-Ups.
Cooked a healthy dinner, almost two dinners really since I made pork chops and my cousin doesnt like pork. I cooked her chicken, because left over chicken sounded appealing to me too
Bathed the kiddo early which meant putting her to bed early
Spent some time with hubby and had some evening Sparktime, I got a lot of really great SparkMail messages from Sparkfriends, thanks! Tried to read some blogs and check into some pages and teams too.
More Mommy shows and then off to bed, because tomorrow restarts the "get-up, get dressed, PLEASE eat something and go to gym routine" with kiddo. I did miss my cardio today and feel well rested now so looking forward to a great work out tomorrow.
