Cinnamon in my smoothies! Wow!

Thursday, August 22, 2013

I am loving the kick it gives my green drinks.

Mango and almond milk and whatever greens I have seem to go well with cinnamon! Who knew!

Smiling at your idea - and the great response to health and taste...I love pumpkin pie and apple pie spice in just about any smoothie too - combins cinna mon with other good-for-you spices and so many times combo gived more power than individual nutrients.

I haven't tried cinnamon in my smoothies yet but sounds like a great idea. I love using fresh fruits and sometimes frozen ones. I make mine with spinach leaves, fruits and protein powder. Yum and so healthy! The greatest way to get in your good foods.

emoticon for sharing this! I am adding cinnamon to just about everything these days (coffee, cottage cheese, oatmeal -yum!) but have been hesitant to add it to my smoothies. I'll "give it a whirl"! emoticon

I love the taste of cinnamon and I love the smell of it too. I just bought a Magic Bullet because I want more smoothies. It's so simple and it's such an easy 'clean up.'

I recently read in a book on the Mediterranean Diet that cinnamon is 'the spice of life!' It said to get out the cinnamon and leave it out. Add a touch of it to anything and everything. It's healthy. It contains calcium, Vitamins C & K, and it even has fiber.

Enjoy!

Cinnamon is awesome!! Also, unsweetened cacao (chocolate) is good - will need to sweeten it with date or honey or stevia, or frozen banana. And believe it or not, but a half of avocado really tones down "green" taste and adds yummy creaminess feel (especially if you do have the chocolate - I've also used like a square or two of the 80-90% dark chocolate, with the date or stevia etc as sweetener. Or banana. Mango would be good too - kicks it up with that tart sweet taste. I just rarely buy mango since I haven't figured out the fastest and least messy way of cutting off that big seed!! ha! (it's not exactly "tropical" right there in Kansas, so mangos tend to be a bit pricy when they aren't in season.).

Have fun with the smoothies!
