Fresh food...

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Cooper and I went out to my parents' house to do some more cleaning. I am just about done with the one room. Yay! I filled another trash bag today and did some sorting and vacuuming. Then I went outside to visit with mom and my SIL. We chatted for a while, then dad decided we should go pick fresh veggies for lunch. We picked green beans, broccoli, swiss chard, basil, lettuce and potatoes. Oh, and some zucchini... can't forget the zucchini! We all worked together and soon had a lovely meal prepared. Mom roasted a turkey yesterday, so we also had turkey. I discovered I like salsa on my broccoli. It sounds strange, but it tastes good.

Cooper got stung in the face by something nasty this morning. He was pawing at his snout, and then he started swelling up. I think every lymph node in his body swelled. I ended up giving him half a Benadryl, because he looked so miserable. It knocked him out for a couple of hours, but the swelling has gone down. He looked like a squirrel with mumps. Poor puppy! As a result I did not take him out for an afternoon walk, but waited until dusk, and took him out for a short evening walk.

I did 30 minutes of yoga today as well.

Awesome, you got in exercise working in the garden and then you got to enjoy the fruits, or in this case veggies, of your labor. I am glad that Cooper is going to be ok!! emoticon
