Day Five. Sigh. That is all.

Thursday, August 22, 2013

We live in a small town that has a big problem with senseless vandalism, graffitti, and petty crime. Can you guess where this is leading??

5:40am, son and I leave the house to get him to work. His car is nowhere to be seen. At some point, someone came along and decided they didn't want to walk home. His car is an old beater, but it was HIS. He paid half the purchase price, and the insurance and registration. I've been doing all the driving supervision as he works towards getting his regular licence, and it also represented freedom for me since I drove it whenever I wanted.

I'm sure we won't see it again. It's probably been burnt on the side of the road somewhere as a final "screw you" from the kid who swiped it. (With the way my luck works, they'll discover a body inside and the cops will come knocking looking for me.)

It's not the end of the world but I'm really angry. That car represents a lot of hard work from my husband and my son. More hard work will replace it. Some stupid jerk comes along and decides to steal all that hard work.

Hey darlin'~ *hugs* I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. Sounds like a bunch of thugs who need a good thump. Hope it won't be long before your son has new wheels & the thugs are apprehended. *hugs* BB~

Such a shame, especially as much hard work would have gone into it and was obviously so important to you all ..
I hope you can find it somewhere close by and it is undamaged ..

I am so sorry to read about this! I would be angry too! So sad when you work so hard and are trying to teach your son the responsibility of owning and driving a car. Will insurance cover theft? On a possible positive note...once I had a car stolen when I lived in the city of Chicago and oddly enough I found it about a week later parked illegally several blocks from my apartment! I had even reported it stolen but it was me who found it not the police...they HAD ben ticketing it though for being parked illegally! emoticon
Good lucky to you and your family, emoticon
