A FIRST FOR ME AND I HAD TO WAIT TWO MONTHS

Thursday, August 22, 2013

I don't know if I told you I had to go to court or not. State Farm wanted me to go and give my version of the accident.
They assured me it was nothing to worry about but since I had NEVER been to court I did worry anyway. In fact I worried more than I did about the surgery. well court date was yesterday and a good friend took me. We arrived early. Then the insurance adjuster arrived, then State Farm's lawyer arrived. 2:00 arrived and the party did not arrive. The lawyer came and told me the judge would wait a few minutes and if she did not come it would be dismissed. Then he disappeared and a while later appeared and said he talked to the judge and it was over. The judge signed and I didn't have to worry about it as it was finished, all done. I didn't even see the judge.
I had met a lady in a restaurant we both frequent often and who works in high places in the same place I went to court. She and I became friends and spoke to each other but one day she disappeared and I wondered about her. The day before my court date she came. I asked her if she had been sick, on vacation or just busy. She was impressed I missed her and wondered about her. Then I told her about my court date. She said I had nothing to worry about if I just had to give my version of what happened.
So many people down here drive with no driver's license and no insurance and we have to pay extra for uninsured drivers.
A first for me and all done. Now I just have to wait for them to reschedule my surgery. God has a time for all things and He does take care of us. We must never cease to give him thanks.

That was easy. I am glad everything came out OK for you in court. So what does this mean? Does your insurance not pay her or what?

Irene, happy that your day in court ended as it did. One time way back when I was an admitting clerk at a local hospital, I had to appear in court to to testify about a drunk driver who was treated at the hospital, and he was trying to fight the charges. I still don't know why I had to be there as all I had done was admit him to the emergency room. By the way, he didn't win!!!

What this about rescheduling your surgery? emoticon emoticon

Like Mom always said "Worry is a wasted emotion, if you can't do something about a situation put it in Gods hand and leave it"
Glad things worked out for you Irene.

I'm so glad that things went well. A long time ago I had to go to court for an accident, I worried myself sick, so I can imagine how you felt.

Did I miss something Irene? I thought your surgery was next week and you said it's being rescheduled. I hope everything is okay.

Will say an extra prayer for you! emoticon

One furlough a car dealer sold me a car for $1 that I was to give back to him at the end of the year. I was on speaking tour in the NorthEast part of the States and Dad called to say that my car had been stolen during the night. The 15 year old boy drove it about a mile away and totaled my car.... in front of a policeman!! I had to go to juvenile court. After stealing my car, this young high school football player stole a CD at SHOPKO. The guard ran after him and caught him. Here I was in a conference with State Farm's lawyer and SHOPKO's representative and also their lawyer. We were told that the boy would likely plea bargain and ask to be forgiven of the CD theft but he would admit to the car theft. We went into the court. There was a plea bargain. Then the judge spent awhile giving counsel and giving a long list of possible punishments including possible juvenile detention. He would rule later. I never did hear what this 15 year old's punishment was. I did learn that his father was retired Airforce though so I imagine he had been brought up very strictly... and that his Dad probably gave quite a punishment himself. This was the first time the football player had been in trouble. I gave the $8000 insurance settlement to the car dealer and he gave me another car to use for the remainder of the year.

Glad it worked out so well Irene. Going to court is not fun even if you aren't guilty of anything. Hope the surgery will be soon. ((HUGS))

I'm so glad your court day is behind you - and even more glad it turned out to be such a small thing, instead of such a big thing. And I'm sending up prayers that your surgery goes by just as smoothly - and is soon behind you too.

Prayers and love

I'm glad the court situation turned out so well for you Irene. It would be scary when you've never been to court before!

I am sad about your surgery date but as you said, 'God has a time for all things and He does take care of us".

Showing that lady that you missed her was a lovely thing, that would make her feel good. YOU are a lovely lady, my Irene!

I am so glad that the court situation worked out alright for you. I truly do not understand why we all worry about things the way we do. I guess it is just human nature. So many times I turn my problems. trials over to the lord and take them back. I can almost see my precious Lord shaking His head and saying to me, In My Time dear one, not yours. A definite lesson in patience. Have a bless day. Pat

90% of what we worry about, never happens.
God is always there with us, to get through it.
Be anxious about nothing. Easier said than done.

Glad you made out OK, in court. Even innocent people get nervous!

Nice you got to see the person, you had struck up a friendship with.

Have a wonderful day Irene!
