Name one thing you've learned about yourself since starting the challenge.
This is a tough one. I think that weight loss requires putting a lot of attention on myself. I found that this is a lot easier to do as a single person. I have been easily sidetracked in the past and did well for a while and then gave up because of attention required elsewhere. I do not find that having a daughter interferes as we can exercise together and even plan meals and lunches ahead. Lavinia is excited to go back to school and we are both already pinning various healthy lunch options for ideas for the new school year. Although there is no focus on losing weight on her end, we are both focused on exercise and healthy choices. Another thing I learned while tracking my caloric deficit is why my previous weight loss has been so slow. Cardio workouts take a lot of time but are completely worth it to burn off those calories along with meeting my calorie, carb, fat, and protein targets. By concentrating on these 4 targets, I can find better food choices so that I lose weight and am not hungry.
On another note, I reset my weight loss goal on my tracker because we are starting a Biggest Loser Fall Challenge at work and I have a goal to lose 5% of my weight by October 29th. Hopefully this will help me kick the habit of my double double coffee when I arrive to work.
