34 Pounds down as of Today!

My previous blog was very long,,,,,,, so I decided to drop a few lines just to update my Spark friends as to my progress on this weight loss journey. I have been doing well,,,, down 34 pounds!!! Hooray! I cannot believe that a few months ago I was going to just quit trying to lose weight and accept that I would be an unhealthy weight the rest of my life.

BUT it has not been a picnic,,,, changing my eating habits and moving more,,,, well,,, let's just say that it has not been easy but I had to decide what was more important to me,,,, and I decided that better health,,,, feeling and looking better is what I need and what I am determined to achieve! Since I am not a "spring chicken",,, that old metabolism isn't what it use to be! LOL But no excuses,,,, "smaller portions and move more" is my motto!

Some people have noticed that I lost weight and others have not. BUT as long as I feel good and know that I am making progress,,, that keeps me happy and moving forward.

    You are so right, it isn't a picnic all the time, but the reward of knowing you are doing the best thing you can for yourself is more than worth it. Speaking for myself I would love it if I had understood earlier in life how to keep good health by eating right and moving. But that's all in the past and the only thing that matters now is my actions TODAY. We are defining a new future for ourselves. Keep up the excellent work and remember you're not alone.

    Lily, major emoticon emoticon are in order!! This is phenomenal news indeed! You've really done an amazing job - 34 pounds!! You have probably done the most demanding part of this journey now, as it takes tremendous effort to identify all the healthy new behaviors you need in your armamentarium and to implement them long enough to get such dramatic results. This involves overcoming the previous habits and cementing the new ones in their place - VERY demanding, hard work! But YOU DID IT!! emoticon

    Exercise is a valuable ally, sure... but even when one can't do as much of it for whatever reason, tracking food intake will still get the job done. So, don't worry about that too much - besides, you live quite a busy life as it is; I can only imagine how difficult it is to fit in much exercise. You are doing more than fine!! emoticon
