August 21...in a blue moon...happy blue

I am so thankful for my day at home. Work is very intense this time of year and longer days as we scramble to get everything asked of us done. I slept in rejoicing in the ability to go back to bed after getting up to take dogs out and feed at 3:40am...then I realized after a reminder that the dogs were due at the groomers and family was coming out...which was fine...just a little more scrambling. Again, really thankful to have found my first cup of coffee without any bugs doing a backstroke in the cup....did a little tree pruning and pulled the kitchen curtains for their bi yearly wash.
We had a lovely lunch at Luigi's to celebrate my brother's birthday and shared two slices of Lemon Chello cake between the four of us. It was good but couldn't hold a candle to the Lemon Chello liquor from Europe that a friend had brought back. Still...good.
The guinea hen is stoically setting on her nest in the brush and the ewe lamb in isolation is returning to normal after an excessively swollen face. Several of the youngsters get a taste for a certain plant...probably one of the nettles and they swell impressively. An overnight withdrawl presents return to normal with droopy facial tissue that just takes a few more days to tighten.
The ponies are out meandering lazily in the sunshine. They get their feet trimmed tomorrow and no more deadlines or to dos for today...nap time.
