In NZ it is considered Bad Form to be a skite. But I'm anonymous here, so what the hey...
One of my goals is to increase fitness, strength, and flexibility, and lose fat.
Yesterday my Zumba Goddess changed our class stretching routine, and we did two new stretches. One was straight legs apart , hands on legs, body parallel to the floor, it's a yoga pose I think. Sparkies, I could not get a stretch out of it. I had to drop my head to the floor (hair touching the floor) to give my hamstrings anything.
(Please note, my stomach was not an obstacle to this).
The other was legs apart, turn to one side body paralell to the ground, looking at one hand in the air and the other in line straight down to your foot. Had to put my foot hand flat on the floor to get a stretch going!
I still struggle with the balance on one leg stretches, because of my unfortunate knees, and an old ankle sprain. But I rocked those two stretches!
Later... sorry, should have thought translation might be required:
A skite is a show-off or boastful person. Modesty and humility are much valued character traits in New Zealand.
