Well, I made it home after a 15 hour whirl wind tour to Vancouver Children's hospital with my daughter (all is well/more about that later). Driving in the city is an experience for me, a country bumpkin where 3 cars at the stop sign is a traffic jam!
Even though I packed healthy food (homemade granola, yogurt and hummus, fruit, nuts, vegetables, rice crackers...) the stress of the trip all round was a trigger for me.
Arriving home after 15 hours of travel and doctors I walked into the kitchen to see my DH had bought pizza for him and my son... oh no, I have been wheat free and food planning for over a month. Seeing that pizza on the table made me so weak. I opened the box grabbed a piece and opened my mouth... but before I did I cruised the fridge for something to drink (water was on the counter)...but I was past that...
As I did my son (19 years old) said, Mom, I cooked the chicken breasts you had in the fridge... my daughter(18 years old) reached in front of me, took the cover off the chicken, grabbed a small piece, took the pizza from my hand and put the chicken in it. Then she poured me a glass of water and gave me a hug! I was saved from myself.
I did something right!
