I Miss My Bike...

It has been a crazy busy first week of school!!! I have 115 8th grade math students, and they are all over the board in ability. Also in Illinois this year, there is a new law that kids have to go to school for a full day on the first day...so there is no "easing back into it". OMG I'm exhausted.

Today I learned that Tylenol does nothing for my foot/knee pain, and I'm switching to ibuprofen tomorrow. I'm also going back to my orthotics tomorrow to see if my knee pain goes away. My orthopedic dr. told me they weren't helping my foot, so I quit wearing them; but now my knee is starting to act up! Sigh...I just can't win.

The good news is my food is still very good and I'm down another pound this week. I've logged food for more than 50 straight days, and even though I had ice cream cake last week for my daughter's birthday AND went out to Logan's steakhouse for her birthday dinner, I still reined it in the rest of the week and I'm losing.

I'm really fortunate that all the teachers on my team are also healthy eaters who bring sack lunches to school...AND my ct keeps a fridge in our classroom, so I can keep my sack lunches in there and it works out really well. SO I plan to keep losing throughout the school year. I'm worried about having time to log all my food, but for now I'm cutting back on lots of other things, like fb, phone games, and knitting (even though I have a pair of socks that are thisclose to being finished).

Now that school has started, I need to be done exercising by 6:30am, and this is really cramping my biking season. It's not light enough for me until after 6am now, so it's not really worth it for me to ride my bike for less than 20 minutes! I prefer to be gone for hours! ;) Anyway, I've been replacing my biking with swimming, and I'm getting a lot stronger. I also increased my weights for strength training, and OMG I was so sore last night! Husband rubbed my sore shoulders last night and I don't even remember falling asleep, it was just so relaxing and soothing.

Speaking of husband, he went to the dr. last week for a followup visit, and his blood sugar numbers were a lot better; however the dr. wants them to be even lower, so he added a new med to his drug cocktail called Glyburide. He has been forgetting to take it, so we moved it to the napkin basket that we keep on the table, and that is helping a lot because he has to take it at dinnertime. His food is so good, and I've been pinning "Diabetic Recipes" to my Pinterest. He's so excited that I'm making stuffed peppers tomorrow, because we are finally getting a lot of green peppers out of the garden! Me, I'm sorta dreading it; the last time I made stuffed peppers, he yelled at me because they weren't like the ones his mother made. Tonight I yelled back at him and said "I'm not making them like your mother did, I'm making them so you can HAVE them!" So hopefully he'll keep quiet!!! :/

Well...5am comes early around here so I'm going to bed before I turn into a pumpkin. Have a great week. :)

    Just finished my stuffed pepper for lunch. It was made with rice, burger, and topped with Paul Neuman's salsa with pineapple. SO GOOD!

Keep pressing on with the bike rides.

    Great come back on the peppers!....... and spoken with love.

I have a "Mr. I use Mayo like it was frosting" and it is a struggle.
