Sourdough started, day 3

The starter had developed a slightly grey cast and a crust, per directions, I scooped out 1/2 of the starter and added 1/4 cup each of flour and water then stirred. It is developing a slightly sour smell which I hear is what should be going on.

    Neat! Now that you mention it, I have attempted wild yeast. It was several years ago in the winter and didn't go so well. I'm so glad it's working out!

    So apparently you are coming right along! Great! And very interesting! My sister has always been the great cook in my family. She even took some classes b/c she loved to cook so much! I guess I took after the cooked and hated it and dad would rather stop by McD's that boil water! hehe
