Blah. I hate doctors. I think I hate pills more than doctors but if it gets me to feeling better I suppose I am all for it.
Has been a busy weekend. Last week I had received a 3/4 bushel box of peaches and put up 8 quarts of plain peaches and 8 pints of amaretto peaches. Almost thought on saturday that was going to come to a crashing end. Hubby was out mowing lawn, blowing the debris away from the house, when he picked up a baseball in the deck and sent it sailing through the kitchen window. Or should I say through the screen, the window, and the blind. Talk about scary. I had glass all over the kitchen floor and half way across the dining room. All I was thinking is I hope I get it all picked up before we go pick up the grandson for the night. Must have done a pretty good job because all I found later was a small shard that somehow got inside my slipper and poked me in the foot a bit.
And then there was Nic. That boy, I don't know. The guys had fish sticks and french fries for supper and I had a salami sandwhich and potato chips... or should I say crumbs. Nic is a very picky eater but as soon as I asked Grandpa if he had tried the new Lays Roasted Garlic and Sea Salt chips yet Nic was like I like these and stole them all. Left me with crumbs. Guess I didn't need them that bad. Then J. and her hubby showed up and we all watched t.v. for a bit, got Nic in his jammies and him and I curled up on the couch and as soon as I covered him up he was gone.
Sunday was well... hot. We went to the fair for the demo derby. I came home quite roasted which I know is a negatory being on blood pressure meds, but I honestly couldn't see myself sittin in the sun in the bleachers for 3 hours without a tank top on. I am paying for it. Ugh. Then enters Nic again. Squirrly little bugger. Lets see, for a 3 year old, he is fearless! The tilt-a-whirl, the carousel, the huge slide that is like 40 feet in the air, and the bumper cars! OMG, my butt is broke. Seriously, it hurts to sit. Then to walk through the barns. I honestly felt sorry for hubby, since he is allergic to sheep and the oils in their wool I had to make sure Nic didn't touch any and gave him a prompt handwashing afterwards just in case.
So it has been an eventful weekend, and I think I am still recovering from it. Can't wait to do it again though.
