Whale watching was great on Saturday! It didn't rain but was a nice overcast so we didn't get broiled under the sun. The tide was out so there were lots of harbour seals laying on the rocks. We saw about 12 whales, from huge males to younger ones with their mothers. So glad we went!
I did cheat, but not what you are thinking. I stepped on the scale. I had tried to make it until Labour Day but a moment of weakness got to me and I hopped on. In late July early August my thyroid had gone out of whack like it usually does in the hot summer and I immediately had gained 11 pounds in 3 days putting me at 297. I knew it was going to be a struggle to not go over 300 again and I knew if I saw that I would derail so I stayed away from the scale and focused on the hiking, drinking water and eating healthy. I am thrilled to say that today when I stepped on the scale I was back to 282, which is lower than where I started. My goal was to be out of the 280s by Labour Day and I fully believe I will be there!
Here's a couple of photos of the seals and the whales.
