My first bushel of tomatoes

Monday, August 19, 2013

I thought the time was right to see just how ripe those tomatoes
had gotten over the weekend. It was a pleasant surprise when I
found a bushel of gorgeous tomatoes hidden under all the leaves.
Now I can make spaghetti sauce tomorrow. I also picked enough
peppers onions, eggplant and zucchini to make a double batch,
if not more. I will post pictures tomorrow.
It took over an hour, basically due to the fact that all the plants
are so large and overgrown. This is not my green thumb. I am
sure God had more to go with it than DH and I.
Have a wonderful Tuesday and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

I trim my bushes. Really makes it easier to pick. Also controls blight. Mine aren't ready just yet, but getting close. Though cherry tomatoes have been nice snacks lately. Tried some orange ones this year and really like them.

My mouth is watering with the mention of all those yummy veggies. So tired of the GMO's that seem to be everywhere these days.

We're all still waiting here for our tomatoes to ripen; it is getting warmer so hopefully it won't be much longer. I can't wait to taste that first one just off the vine!!

Enjoy!

Sounds delicious! Both the garden full of fresh, beautiful veggies AND the thought of homemade spaghetti sauce tomorrow. Bunnies always eat anything I grow before I get the chance. Someday I will put up a greenhouse and bunny-proof it. I will look forward to scratch-n-smell pictures of your sauce tomorrow!
