Getting older...

Monday, August 19, 2013

Every once in a while, I will find a gray hair. I pull it out and move on, never thinking any more about it. Tonight I looked in the mirror and saw three right away. Then I started looking and saw several more. **SIGH** I lost track of how many after about 10 or so. I have always really regretting spending my entire twenties overweight and out of shape. I turn 33 on Saturday, and I keep telling myself that I don't want to let my thirties pass by in the same way. School starts back on Monday as well. I'm really looking forward to being back in a routine. I think I'm finally ready to start back at the gym and re-up my healthy eating. I better. I ain't getting any younger.

I turned 63 last Monday and to tell you the truth I said the same thing when I was 40. But I still have grey hair and am still overweight. Yet, I am working on it and I know you are too. Keep trying. We will succeed!

I am turning 40 in October & although I have always been health-minded, I just now feel like I am in the best physical shape of my life (beginning in just the last 2 years). SO, this CAN absolutely become the best time of your life. emoticon

omg... i do the exact same thing. Now I have 2 white hairs. I keep cutting them. I know more will be coming up soon. And yes, I spend my 20s the same way u did and don't want my 30s to be spent in that manner. Gonna send u a friend add! Take care.

Best wishes on your journey! Keep your intentions on health and well being. Sounds like that is where you want to be, so make choices and steps that lead your there. There will be bumps in the road but it is navigable. I've been on this journey for over two years now. Though they have been tough, they have been awesome! I am also back to work for a new school year...tiring and stressful but also challanging and motivating. I have to fight really hard to keep stress eating under control. Yesterday by 2pm I was convincing myself that I was way too tired to exercise and "deserved" some down time. But when I really thought about it, I was mentally tired more than physically. I made it to the gym and ended up doing 2 classes and left invigorated to come home and prepare food for health and enjoyment. I will be 50 in December! I feel and look better than when I was 33. I have battled my weight for 40 yrs...I've been winning for the last 2.5! You can do this! emoticon

At least you figured it out!! Being more gray than you and adding 13 years to your age, I can tell you that it's all worth it.

The 30's are great! One is mature mentally and the body, when treated right, it good. Lots of youthful energy with the same "go get them" spirit.

The 40's come and things start going south in a big way. Parts of your body seem in a race to reach your waist, your skin becomes a bit looser and the fine lines begin to appear more readily.

I will be 46 soon and despite the above things occurring, I'm probably in the best physical shape of my life. I too wish I would have done more younger, but at least I'm doing it now.

You have more life ahead of you than behind. Seize the opportunity, keep making healthy choices and treat yourself with the respect your body deserves. Here's to the 80's!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I won't even come near my ultimate goal weight by the time I turn 30 in October, but I am determined to get there and stay there for the big 4-0. Good luck!! emoticon emoticon
