After several envious trips to Subway, watching them perfectly dice up my salad, I decided it was high time to splurge on a kitchen purchase:
It's a salad chopper - complete with sturdy bowl and double slicer. Every time I watch the employees at Subway pile my veggies high and then dice it up in a manner of seconds. And every time I think, "that would cut my prep time in half." Plus I'm not too hot with the knife. I'm a loud, sloppy chopper.
Today was my test run and it was wonderful. I piled in my veggies - argula, kale, iceberg lettuce, peppers, onions, and cucumbers - and added some roasted chicken and goat cheese:
Then I ran the dicer through my meal and had everything chopped and mixed:
It was delicious and topped off with some Walden Farms dressing (not that you need to know that). But the best part is that it took me less than five minutes to make the entire thing, which I sat on top of my food scale to weigh by add in.
