Volunteering Time

Monday, August 19, 2013

Every year we volunteer our time to work in a food stand at the New York Woodsmen s Field Days that is held in Boonville New York. This year it was August 16-17-18.
Friday night my husband and I took time out to walk in the 5K WALK that is held each year along with a 10K RUN. We meet new people and a lot of old friends we haven't see in a long time.
Saturday and Sunday morning starts at 4 am we help cook and serve breakfast. The menu is eggs bacon, sausage steak, pancakes, toast juice, milk and coffee. Again we work with friends we only see this time of the year.I like to cook the eggs so that is how I spend the mornings.
As soon as some one asks for a hot dog or hamburg the grills change to the lunch menu. We clean up and put away the breakfast food. The afternoons we spent cutting potatoes for french fries. There were times when the potatoes couldn't be washed and cut fast enough.
I don't know where all these people came from, but it looked like the all came to eat at the same time.
We are looking forward to next year.
