We are up at 4:30am to watch the sunrise on Lake Superior at Sault Ste. Marie Canada, then the 90 minute drive to Sault Ste. Marie, MI for the day. We are hoping to hook up with a family friend I have not seen in about fifteen years. He is a Native American artist there and is very hard to find. I have sent mail, tried to call, phone disconnected, etc.
Going to the Soo Locks, going to be "fudgies" for the day, then return to our cabin to either pick more huckleberries and/or go swimming. We did go in the water last night, but did not really swim. Temps are beautiful 82 degrees, sunny, water temp is almost scalding for this, the largest source of fresh water on earth!! about 74 degrees..
Last night we had our Koegel Viennas cooked in the campfire, then smores made with cinnamon graham crax, Cadbury 80% bars, and marshies. A huge treat for us!! Only the second time I ever had a smore!!
This week is worth the 356 day wait!!
